La Dolce Veloce

The Audi R8 supercar (shown as the ‘LeMans’ concept previously) was caught on film recently testing in Sweden; you can view the pictures over at German Car Blog. Based on the Lamborghini Gallardo, engine choices will be either a 400hp V8 or a 600hp V10.

GermanCarFans has some spy shots of the new Audi TT coupe undergoing cold weather testing. It’s a pretty attractive design; not an EXCITING design but as a GT car, it’s not bad. Check it out here.

You lucky blokes in the UK will soon have the option of stuffing a 3.5l, 300hp V6 (I *think* it’s the Nissan motor they’re using) into your Elise (S2) or VX220, thanks to a company called Plans Motorsport. They expect to have cars available around the middle of this year, with the cost expected to be around £50k for a turnkey example. The engine sits longitudinally; I can’t wait to see pictures to see how they pulled that off!

Mazda will be unveiling this small sports coupe at Detroit next week, so look for official photos then. In the meantime, enjoy this leaked sketch courtesy of LeftLaneNews. There aren’t any more details at this point, though I’d expect this to be a next gen RX-7…rotary powered, turbocharged, and based on the RX-8 chassis.
