Twin turbo Lamborghini Diablo

ttd-08-thumb.jpgSure, you could buy a Bugatti for $1.5M, but if 1000hp is really all you want, why not just turbocharger your Lamborghini Diablo instead? The drool factor of this machine is immense. Twin turbos feed the 5.7 liter V12 1.2 bar of pressure (which is quite a bit for any aftermarket turbo system). What I like most about this conversion is that the beautiful exterior lines of the car remain largely unchanged, it hasn’t been decked out in superfluous wings and body add-ons. You can read all about it over at the GTROC blog.

BMW M5 wagon!

BMW has always done a good job of providing performance cars to people who also want a practical family car; the latest is a station wagon version of an M5 recently spied testing in Europe, packing a V-10 and pushing this family hauler to 60mph in under five seconds.

Car vs. motorcycle vs. boat

Cool video, a race between a boat, motorcycle, and car (as seen on Fifth Gear TV). The result is pretty much as you’d expect, but it’s still a neat video to watch…click here for it.

BMW M6 launched

bmw_m6.jpgBMW is launching the new M6 coupe with one heck of a motor – a 507hp V-10 putting out 383 foot pounds of torque (and reving to 8250 rpm, quite high for a V!), mated to a seven speed sequential gearbox. In spite of that though, it only manages a 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds (matching the 190hp Elise)…this seems to indicate that this BMW is a bit, well, porky (in spite of its carbon fiber roof and weight saving materials in its engine). It’ll make a great GT car though, which really is its main purpose. More pictures over at Pistonheads.
