Another picture of the Mitsubishi Sports Concept

2239358603635559.JPGHow can Mitsubishi produce such fantastic concept cars such as this, and still have such a lame product lineup (with the sole exception being the Evo, truly standing out from the rest)?

Isdera C112 for sale!

3c_12_sbs.jpgIn spite of its automatic transmission, the Isdera C112 is one impressive car, with classic twentieth century styling and a V12 Mercedes powerplant producing around 450hp. It was never produced, but the sole prototype recently appeared on Ebay (click here for the ad) with a ‘buy it now’ price of $4.8 million (gulp).

TVR Tuscan S Mk2

tuscansides.jpgAutoblog.it has a story about the new TVR Tuscan S Mk2. The first new car to be introduced since the company was purchased by a Russian a while ago, its six cylinder motor is good for 3.6 second 0-60 times, with excellent brakes to go with that. While the side profile is a fairly traditional coupe design, the front and rear are what really make this car stand out. Its bulbous, flowing lines will not be mistaken for anything other than a TVR (more pictures in the rest of this post). You can expect to see these cars make their way to the US in the next few years.

Not your average Smart Car…

smart_car_gsxr1000s.jpgAsk an auto enthusiast what two words best describe the Smart Car, and my guess is they’ll more often than not be, “funky” and “slow”. Well, its funky styling is indisputable, and the changeable body panels only reinforce that belief, but as for being slow, well…British company Z Cars has done something about that. They specialize in dropping motorcycle engines into small cars. Still sounds slow, you say? Well, they took the one liter motor from a Suzuki GSXR1000, tweaked it to produce 180hp, and dropped it into a Smart. That’s a 200% increase in power for that car (60hp stock). The result will out accelerate most sports cars, getting to 60mph in about 4.2 seconds! I question whether its handling will be on par with cars in the same acceleration class, but regardless, it’s gotta be a hoot to beat a Ferrari off the line. ;) Read more about it here.
